THE DRIFTER: LOVERS

102-1 cover

The Drifter is an up and coming Irish producer and singer living in Berlin.

On top of lending his kaleidoscopic voice to productions of friends such as Erdbeerschnitzel, Good Guy Mikesh & Filburt, Worst Friends and Jacob Korn, he runs the clubnight “Passion Beat” at Loftus Hall together with Mano Le Tough, an old buddy from his home town of Greystones. Both share a passion for deep, emotional and dark shimmering house music, and have together founded the label Maeve. The ”Lovers“ EP is the first solo release by The Drifter.

JOHN TALABOT: ƒIN REMIXES VOL.1

John Talabot cover

Hot on the wheels of John Talabot’s highly anticipated album ƒin, that earned rave reviews from Pitchfork to Resident Advisor, and became one of the crossover hit albums of the year. Here comes the first heavyweight remix package.

The 12inch is owned by the Pachanga Boys, the super hero tag team and classic odd couple consisting of Rebolledo and Superpitcher. They have come up with not only one but with three different versions of “When the past was present“ – Blue, Purple and Red.

The 10inch is split up between Bullion and Kenton Slash Demon. Young Turks and R&S regular Bullion has been tinkering a complete new song out of “ Destiny”, while Denmark’s duo Kenton Slash Demon give “ Last Land “ the broken house treatment.

WOOLFY VS PROJECTIONS: THE RETURN OF LOVE

Woolfy vs Projections cover

Almost four years after the first album “The Astral Projections Of Starlight” Simon and Dan aka Woolfy vs Projections bring us “The Return Of Love”. The Album continues the story of “Captain Starlight“: the astronaut returns to earth after his odyssey in space, finding his lost love and releasing all that was.

The Return Of Love” was conceptualized in the Californian Big Bear Mountains. “We we’re focused on recording during the dates of November 9th 2009 to November 11th for mysterious purposes, so we packed up a grip of analog keyboards, pre-amps , laptops and fine ales and boarded ourselves up in a log cabin for a couple of days.” says Simon “Woolfy” James.

The influences on the album oscillate between the likes of Wings, David Crosby, Brian Ferry and today’s disco leaving the boundaries of electronic music far behind them. In fact, Woolfy vs Projections have recorded a modern west coast psychedelic rock album with “The Return of Love“. The best example is most likely the track “Nina“, a coproduction with Hamburg’s Tensnake. This music hits you like a good peyote trip!

ROISIN MURPHY: SIMULATION

097-1 cover

‘This is the realm of my wildest dreams’ – Irish queen Roisin Murphy returns to the disco with her new track “Simulation”: A stardusted slow pumping house cut, with a vintage disco glimmer, that develops an enormously captivating effect over 12 minutes with a constantly swelling beat and vocal performance. There is also a shorter dub version provided by the man Eric Kupper.
On remix duties is fellow Irish man and the rising hope of house music Mano Le Tough. Mano starts out under a sinister sky before the sun breaks through with Roisin’s vocals and floating synth cascades. This Simulation feels mighty real.
