What is Love? 20 long years later we not only got the answer, but also a new anthem for the Love Generation: “A Thing Called Love”; Austrian loverboy Wolfram and the legendary Haddaway have created a glowing masterpiece shooting straight into the heart of Eurodance for maximum pleasure. “A Thing Called Love“ is not only the quintessence of Wolfram’s mission to redefine dance music from the last three decades, but also the foundation of his self titled debut album, which was released earlier this year.
On the remix duties we have Kink and Kink does what Kink does best: Revitalizing House Music for quite some time now. Pumping beat, fat ass bassline, a remarkable rim plus Haddaway’s vocals that’s all you need. Turn the page for some acid flavor from the Jack of all trades Mr. Legowelt. Danny Wolfers created a track for the very special moments in the club: Early Morning, sun is shining in, everybody is happy and smiling on the dancefloor and when you hear the first notes of this remix you suddenly start hugging strangers.
As a bonus one of the most prolific album tracks, “Roshi“ sees the light of day on wax, which makes quite sense on this 12”, since the track is a dedication to Wolframs lovely lady. Too much love ? Definitely not !
You can order the 12″ in our Online Shop or get the digital release at Beatport

Pional aka Miguel Barros is probably Spain’s best-kept secret when it gets to electronic music production. This young multi-instrumentalist that compulsively colours his tracks with his own vocals, first burst into the scene with a 12” on the Barcelona-based Hivern Discs, the label from his friend, the infamous John Talabot, unveiling a slo-mo disco anthem –“A Moot Point”- that aroused great interest. His last reference for the label, the unique house gem “We Have Been Waiting For You” proves, this producer is one of the talents to follow and already got championed from people like James Holden and Erol Alkan.
Handcrafting a sound that explores house, deep textures or kraut influences relentlessly getting a special treatment, Pional’s three track “Last House On The Left EP“ for Permanent Vacation shows the great quality of this young producer, with his influences ranging from Moodymann to Matias Aguayo, from Caribou to Grizzly Bear. Miguels edit skills have been proved refixing Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti and Matthew Herbert’s originals and his remixing skills have been already requested by Delorean (True Panther/Matador), Clinic (Domino Records) and Space Ranger (Lovemonk Recs), Pional’s audacity make each and everyone of his efforts a new and exciting adventure. That’s all for now folks! Now listen to the music.

The album “EARTHLY POWERS” by POLLYESTER (Munich, Germany) is now available. You can order the CD / Digital Album at Amazon.de Amazon.co.uk Amazon.fr Amazon.com or in our Online Shop or at Itunes
Pollyester have recorded twelve songs for “EARTHLY POWERS”, which will certainly boost them around the pop globe. Somewhere in between Stereolab, Les Rita Mitsouko, Siouxsie Siuox, The Slits, Can, Chrisma and Nico the Munich duo has made themselves comfortable with their electronic sizzling. They don’t steal and they don’t imitate, just here and there a few flashes of recognition will hit brains with pop music schooling, only to evaporate in the duo’s unique sound amalgam the next moment. A sound that inexorably bores itself into the body with an analogue strength and plenty of catchy tunes without letting itself reduce to one explicit style. Similar to contemporary North-American newcomers such as Rainbow Arabia, Peaking Lights or The Soft Moon, Pollyester are not interested in any genre labeling and playfully jump between spooky and euphoric atmospheres. Tribal rhythms, energetic krautrock, disco strings and Witch-House-moments are equal partners in their kaleidoscope arrangements. All of them magically glisten thanks to Polly’s cool emotional speech song and promote double bottom pop that clings to the listener and at the same time sounds somehow bitchy. The music is topped by Polly’s surreal lyrics, all of which loop themselves into the brains of listeners with their mantra choruses and project nightly metropoli- tan neon-stories on the inner screen.
The British press already labeled the duo as “Cosmic Disco” thanks to their psychedelic energy, however, with the supplementary “Lindstrom on Mescalin”. A nice compliment that forgets to mention, though, that Pollyester ignite their unique space shuttle fuel and no matter what speed they play and with what atmosphere they toy they rotate in their own orbit with their boogie basshooks, their twinkling synthesizer melodies and their twisted grooves.
“It’s really good. Played a track on my show last week and will be playing one this week. Gina X meets Matthew Dear. Ace.” Bill Brewster (IDJ / DJHISTORY)
“Have to say that Voices from the new Pollyester album is the song of the year for me… a perfect pop song.” Piers Martin (VICE UK / UNCUT)
Qvest (01/2011)
